You don't stay here for the facility-which is worn and dated, but very clean with comfortable beds, good sized room; also have fridge and microwave. You stay here for the location-which is beyond fabulous; the sunset at Windows View Trail is alone worth the price. And it's being torn down sometime in 2024, so if you want a great location in a beautiful park, book soon!

Jan 2024 - Pricing structure is delusional. I paid $250 for one night for a disgusting room. I’ve stayed in other national parks, and when the rooms are “historic” and of this quality, I’ve paid less than half what Aramark charges. The restaurant is just meh. I stayed for two nights in Terlingua and despite a 45 minute drive to the park, I strongly recommend this route. Chisos Mountain Lodge is a dump. Wish they gave refunds because I would leave and go stay elsewhere.

Finding a room at the lodge is difficult but it is highly recommended to stay within the park as it takes at least 30-40 minutes to find the nearest accommodation. Also the phone signal is a hit or miss in the park, so please don’t rely on doing any online business while you are here unless you are at the restaurant near lodge which has free wi-if. Do not expect comfy beds as the lodge is old and needs complete renovation, but the staff is doing great to keep it up and running with what they have.

I highly recommend this place! While the rooms are somewhat dated, they were very clean and comfortable, and most of all: extremely conveniently located. The lodge has nice access to hiking trails, and allows to start early in the morning before the afternoon heat strikes. Also: the restaurant at this Lodge was amazing, with outstanding view and food! If I come back to the park, I will definitely stay here again, no question!

This lodge is smack dab in the middle of the Basin at Big Bend. So if you are looking for a place to explore, this is a great place to call home for a few nights. You will pay more than if you stayed in one of the surrounding areas but there is little to no driving to avail yourself to 13 desert trails, 7 mountain trails, and 5 river trails. These range in lengths from less than a mile to over 14.5 miles. So bring your hiking boots and something to eat and drink for your hikes and experience a land that will leave an impression on you that will last a lifetime.
